Musical Theater Beginnings (Grades PreK –1) | Mondays at 4:00 PM
Step into the magical world of musical theater! In this playful and imaginative introductory class, young performers will explore the basics of acting, singing, and dance in a fun and encouraging environment designed for young learners.
Students will learn beginning vocal skills through group songs and ensemble singing, explore creative storytelling and character through acting games, and practice simple choreography and movement inspired by kid-friendly musicals. Along the way, they’ll build confidence, creativity, teamwork, listening skills, and stage presence, all while having a blast!
This class is perfect for energetic young imaginations who love to sing, move, pretend, and perform. Throughout the semester, students will work together toward a short “mini musical” presentation to be shared with family and friends during the final class.
Broadway Stars (Grades 1 – 3) | Mondays at 5:00 PM
Calling all future Broadway stars! In this exciting and high-energy introductory musical theatre class, students will sing, dance, act, and shine as they explore the fundamentals of performing on stage in a fun and supportive environment.
Young performers will build confidence and creativity while learning beginning acting techniques, ensemble singing, stage movement, and choreography inspired by songs and scenes from some of their favorite musicals. Through theater games, storytelling, music, and movement, students will develop performance skills while making new friends and having a blast.
Throughout the semester, the class will work together to rehearse a showcase featuring musical numbers, scenes, and dances selected especially for the group. Family and friends will be invited to enjoy this special final performance on the last day of class as students take the stage and become budding Broadway stars!
Triple Threat Technique (Grades 4 – 8) | Mondays at 6:00 PM
Take the stage and train like a true triple threat! In this energetic musical theatre class, students will build foundational skills in acting, singing, and dance while exploring material inspired by some of today’s most popular musicals.
Through scene work, ensemble singing, choreography, theater games, and performance exercises, students will develop confidence, creativity, stage presence, and teamwork in a fun and supportive environment. Class material may be inspired by hit musicals such as Hamilton, Six, Beetlejuice, Wicked, The Descendants, Newsies, Matilda, and other student favorites, with selections tailored to the interests of the group.
Students will work throughout the semester toward a final musical theatre showcase featuring songs, scenes, and choreography from beloved Broadway productions. Family and friends will be invited to celebrate the performers’ hard work and growth during this exciting end-of-semester performance on the last day of class!
